NORFOLK – A Bloomfield woman’s unsuccessful attempt to make change has landed her in jail.
Norfolk Police Captain Michael Bauer says 35-year old Melinda Tyler was arrested early Friday. Bauer says police were sent to the Norfolk Wal-mart at around 2:45 a.m. Friday. Employees there said a woman, identified as Tyler, was intoxicated and yelling and hitting the Coinstar machine and constantly yelling at employees.
Employees say Tyler had also thrown a glass pipe at them, which police say field tested positive for methamphetamine.
Officers say as they placed Tyler under arrest, she resisted, kicking both officers. She faces charges of possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest and disturbing the peace, among other charges.
