On March 18, Bloomfield’s elementary challenged the high school to a penny war where all proceeds would be donated to their sister school of Niobrara. The goal for each school was to reach $1,000 before April 1.
The high school almost reached their goal, with their change totaling $920.71, while the elementary blew their goal out of the water by earning $2,282.72. The total amount of $3,203.50 was brought to Niobrara school by the elementary student council on April 1.
All of the Bloomfield students were blown away by the amount accumulated just by collecting coins in their classrooms.
The Elementary Student Council is especially thankful to their families, friends, neighbors and everyone who helped raise the money.
