Bloomfield Police Warns About School Bus Safety

The Bloomfield Police Department would again like to remind everyone on the seriousness of stopping when our school buses have the red flashing lights on and stop arm extended out.  EVERYBODY MUST STOP!!!  This is for our children’s safety getting on/off the buses.  When our children are getting on/off, most aren’t looking for traffic.  Our bus drivers are now writing statements of the violators to the police department for in town violations, as well as the Knox County Sheriff’s Office for rural violations for the prosecution of these offenses.  This offense carries a $500 fine plus court costs and will NOT be a warning.
