Vestas is the largest wind turbine manufacturer and service provider in the world.  The company designs manufactures, installs, and services wind turbines across the globe, and with 92 GW of wind turbines in 79 countries, is the world’s leader in wind energy.

Safety is the company’s highest priority, and Vestas is committed to creating a work culture that encourages and recognizes the safety of all employees.

Vestas recently launched a “Not On Our Watch” safety campaign across North America providing each of the 150+ wind service sites an opportunity to create a video highlighting their commitment to individual and team safety.

The Not On Our Watch theme highlights the responsibility of every wind employee to be their “brothers keeper”, and to give the highest priority and attention to ensuring all members of the Service teams are working in safe conditions.  The ethos underscores that “Not On Our Watch” will any incidents occur.

After over 150 submissions, the campaign was won by the Bloomfield, Nebraska wind site.  Site manager, Aaron Wyatt, and his crew created a video that received an overwhelming number of votes as the best overall safety message.

As winners of the safety campaign, the Bloomfield employees were given the opportunity to donate to a charity of their choice.  The teams have chosen local volunteer fire departments in Bloomfield and Crofton to receive a donation on behalf of Vestas American Wind Technology, in recognition of the fire departments selfless commitment to the community’s safety and well-being.
