The Nebraska Department of Agriculture has confirmed a fourth case of bird flu in Nebraska. The new case was found in Knox County and is a flock of 3 million hens. The farm is owned by the same operation as the three previous cases in Dixon County, but authorities did not identify the owners. The other cases combined with the new case in Knox County bring the total number of impacted birds to 7 million. The NDA quarantined the Knox County facility this morning following a preliminary positive test for the disease, and that test is expected to be confirmed at a federal laboratory tomorrow.
