March is ‘Music in our Schools Month.’ In less than a month, Sheila Lange will kick off “Music in our Schools Month” with the 7th Annual Music Showcase, hosted by the Music Boosters on Sunday March 4th. Music and a Silent Auction will be held from 3 pm to 6 pm. The meal will be served from 4 pm to 6 pm followed by the Grand Auction. “We are excited to show you how far we have come as a program,” Lange said. The showcase will feature performances from our entire music department, kindergarten through twelfth grade, both vocal and instrumental. “Be sure to stay until the end for the Grand Finale,” Lange requests. We are also going to continue the addition of a Silent Auction held throughout the performances, followed by a Grand Auction beginning at 6:00 to close out the evening. We hope to bring in many fantastic items like those available on last years auction. If you would like to make a donation to the auction please contact Mrs. Lange at the high school. This year the music program is fundraising for new choir robes. With the band looking so sharp, the choir needs to step up it’s game. The current robes are used robes that were purchased from the consolidated Coleridge Community Schools. “We are thankful for their availability, but would like robes that identify our Bee Pride,” said Lange. New robes cost anywhere from $100 - $250 per robe and Lange is still working on finalizing the purchase. She says would like to purchase 50 robes, which leaves them with a range cost from $5,000 - $12,500. Lange said that they have a menu change this year. To better serve patrons, they will be serving Barbequed Chicken Breast, baked potato, green beans and a dessert bar. All items are gluten free including gluten free options on the dessert bar. The cost is yet to be determined. Tickets can be purchased from any Bloomfield Music Student K – 12. Tickets can also be purchased at the door, however prepaid is preferred to assist in preparation of the meal. “I would like to start by again thanking the generous community of Bloomfield for the donations of all shapes and sizes over the previous school year. I have received countless compliments from surrounding communities about how sharp our new look is. This would not have been possible without all of you, so thank you,” said Lange. If you have any questions contact Mrs. Lange at the high school or via email at [email protected]. They hope to see you all there to join in the fun and festivities in showing appreciation for Music in Our Schools!
