A display of 104 quilts were displayed Sunday, Nov. 5 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Bloomfield. These quilts were shipped out on Monday, Nov. 6 as part of the Lutheran Relief program, and will be sent around the world to families that are less fortunate then us, stated church member Mary Miller.
The quilts were all made with love and prayers by St. Mark’s quilters/sew-ers a group of about 12 women, who meet each month to assemble and tie quilts. All of the materials are donated except the batting which the group purchase’s in a big roll. An elderly member of the church cuts all of our eight inch blocks at her home, and in turn the quilters/sew-ers group take them home to make quilt tops.
