The Verdigre Drill Team kicked off the parade here Sunday afternoon. It was the last performance for 2015 seniors Madi Schreier, Cassondra Holland and Denielle Desive.
Following the Drill Team was the Kolach Day Parade. There were over 50 entries. One highlight of the parade was the new Czech vests worn by the Verdigre Band. Another was the Living Flag by the Verdigre Organized Women, followed by the Veteran Legion Riders. They all stood at attention during the singing of the National Anthem by Verdigre resident, Jenny Kucera.
The Grand Marshall this year was long-time Verdigre resident Philip Schreier.
Other entries included the Tabor Czech Royalty, Fire Departments from Niobrara, Creighton, and Bloomfield, the Shriners, honored Verdigre classes, and our very own Knox County News car.
Youngsters enjoyed all the candy thrown from the many floats traveling down main street.
Enjoy looking through the gallery of many of the parade entries.
