Verdigre 12U Softball Team Plays At State

The girls of the Verdigre 12U team experienced State Softball for the first time this past weekend.  Although their record ended 1-2, they all played hard and gained valuable experience during the course of the tournament. All games were played at the South Sioux City Riverview fields.
The team's first game was against Auburn at 4:30 on Friday.  The result was an 11-2 loss which put them into the loser's bracket.  
The next morning at 11, they faced Nebraska City.  After a great effort, Verdigre was victorious by a score of 7-4.  Their last game was at 5 pm versus the Tilden Falcons.  This time the result was a loss by the score of 14-3.
Congratulations to the Verdigre team on a very successful and entertaining season!
