It's not often a donation weighs 20 tons. When it does, it makes a big difference. Hoffman Grain of Plainview recently gifted the Verdigre Softball program with 20 tons of baseball dry dirt.It will be mixed with sand and lime and spread on the field. This will create better drainage and make for a more level, dry playing surface.
Coaches Dana Konopasek and Debbie Ives are excited for the change. After a rain, the first base line is typically partially underwater. "We are very grateful for their generous donation for the future generations of Verdigre softball," says Ives.
Thanks to Hoffman Grain - Rory, Paula, Grace, Jaxson, and Weston, for helping to improve a beloved summer tradition in Verdigre!
