Memorial services for Tammie Jo Prochaska Munsell, age 54, of Creighton, Nebraska will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 15, 2016, at Brockhaus Funeral Home in Creighton. Reverend Jacob Bobby will officiate, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery in Creighton.

Family will receive friends on Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Tammie died Monday, October 10, 2016, at Avera Creighton Care Centre, after a courageous battle with cancer, which she fought for the last 17 months.

Tammie Jo Munsell, daughter of Leonard and Delores (Krugman) Prochaska, was born March 21, 1962, at Lundberg Memorial Hospital in Creighton, Nebraska. She graduated from Creighton Community Schools in 1980. On January 24, 1986, Tammie married Vance Munsell in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Two children were born to them, Brian and Douglas.

After Tammie graduated from high school, she moved to the Tulsa, Oklahoma area where she was employed at Bryan Industries and later by the United States Postal Service. Tammie moved back to Creighton in 2005. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Creighton, where she was baptized and confirmed.

Tammie had many hobbies including sewing, crafts, and antiquing. She also had a huge collection of bluebirds. She loved cats, especially “Smokey.” In the last year, Tammie was able to check many things off her bucket list thanks to her special friend, Jeff Behrens. She never missed watching a Nascar race on T.V. and on June 11, 2016, Tammie and Jeff attended a race at Michigan International Speedway.

Tammie is survived by her children, Brian (Kayla) Munsell of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and Douglas Munsell and fiancé Amy Xiong of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Matthew and Oliver Munsell of Broken Arrow; her parents, Leonard and Delores Prochaska of Creighton, Nebraska; her sisters, Colleen (Joe Mike) Gilbert of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, Lori (Tom) Ehrenberg of Creighton, Karla (Tim) Nielsen of Creighton, and Michelle (Mike) Richards of McCook, Nebraska; 13 nieces and nephews; and special friend, Jeff Behrens.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Steve and Minnie Prochaska and Albert and Frieda Krugman.
