Margie died Tuesday, February 26, 2019, at Good Samaritan Society in Bloomfield.

Margie (True) Peterson, daughter of Ezra and Gladys (Blair) True, was born in Bloomfield, Nebraska on October 4, 1925, at the home of Fleming and Pansy True. She attended Bloomfield Public School and graduated with the class of 1943. Margie also briefly attended Commercial Extension in Omaha.

On August 10, 1944, Margie and Ralph “Cap” Peterson were married at the Methodist Parsonage while Cap was home on leave following his boot camp Navy training. To this union one daughter, Cheryl, was born. Cap served in the US Navy until February 1946, when he returned to Bloomfield where he and Margie made their home.

Margie worked at various jobs in Bloomfield: Tangeman Transfer, Yankton PCA, Copper and Johnson Insurance, and for nearly 28 years at Knox County ASCS Office in Center, Nebraska. A job she enjoyed very much.

Activities that Margie and Cap really enjoyed together were fishing trips to Camp Napanec on West Battle Lake in Minnesota and camping trips to the mountains and national forests. Margie also enjoyed being in involved in various organizations in the community and baking her chocolate chip cookies for the Red Cross Bloodmobile.

Family was always very important to her. She loved attending all of her grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s school and sporting events.

Margie was preceded in death by her husband, Cap; her parents, Ezra and Gladys; sister, Betty Brockman and Sylvia Wenke; and brothers, Robert and Neil True.

Left to cherish Margie’s memory are her daughter, Cheryl and Neal Alexander; grandsons and spouses, Mike and Kim Alexander and Jeff and April Alexander; and great-grandchildren, Ty and Kaydee Alexander, Garret Alexander, Kolton Alexander, Morgan Alexander, Taylor Alexander, and Tierney Alexander.
