Mr. Lyle Jensen, 90, of Avon, passed away Dec. 17, 2018.


Lyle was born Nov. 23, 1928, in Bloomfield, NE, a son of the late Otto Henry and Eliza Otto Jensen. He was married to Mary Lou Carlson on Nov. 29, 1953 in Omaha, NE.


Lyle was a graduate of Bloomfield High School. He was retired from the Wilson Meat Packing Plant in Logansport.


Lyle had a passion for gardening and took interests in growing roses. He liked watching football and was an avid golfer.


Lyle was involved in Rotary and the Exchange Club in Logansport. He was a member of the Logansport Country Club and John Purdue Club. He attended the First Lutheran Church in Omaha, NE, St. James in Logansport, Trinity Lutheran in Lebanon and Our Shepherd in Avon.




Survivors include his son, Frank (Carol) Jensen of Lebanon and daughter, Joyce (Mike) Etheridge of Avon; grandchildren: Bob Etheridge of Baltimore, MD; Patrick Jensen of Brownsburg and Christopher Jensen of Lebanon. In addition to his parents and two sisters, Lyle was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou.




Family and friends will gather Thursday, Dec. 20, 2018, for visitation at Trinity Lutheran Church, 2625 Elm Swamp Rd., Lebanon, IN 46052 from 4-7 p.m. and Friday, Dec. 21, with visitation one hour prior to the 10 a.m. service at Our Shepherd Lutheran Church, 9201 E. CR 100 N., Avon, IN 46123. Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon is handling arrangements.
