Viola Elizabeth Landholm, daughter of Carl and Martha (Nelson) Bjorkman, was born April 4, 1923, on a farm northwest of Wausa, Nebraska. Viola was baptized on May 13, 1923, and confirmed on June 6, 1937, at Thabor Lutheran Church in Wausa. She attended District 85W rural school and graduated from Wausa High School. On August 31, 1951, Viola was united in marriage to C. Clinton Landholm at Thabor Lutheran Church. Three children were born to them: Mark, Conrad, and Mary Ann.
Viola and Clinton lived on a farm east of Wausa where they raised their children. Viola enjoyed being a farmer’s wife and helping her husband on the farm. She also held various jobs throughout her life. Viola especially enjoyed her employment at Creutz Drug Store in Wausa, as she was able to visit with the customers. In 1994, she and Clinton moved from the farm into Wausa.
Viola’s faith was very important to her. She was a lifelong member of Thabor Lutheran Church in Wausa. She was a member of LCW in which she held various positions. Viola enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her Swedish ancestry was also something that was important to her. Viola enjoyed researching her family genealogy. She also liked baking, crocheting, and knitting prayer shawls. Viola was a member of Quilting Club, Birthday Club, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, and was a former 4-H leader. She enjoyed going to coffee to visit with her friends, of which there were many. She often played Hand and Foot at the Senior Citizens Center.
Viola is survived by her husband C. Clinton Landholm of Wausa, Nebraska; her children, Mark (Dee) Landholm of Columbus, Nebraska, Conrad Landholm of Wausa, and Mary Ann (Jim) Stender of West St. Paul, Minnesota; three grandchildren, Anika Landholm, Katrina (Brad) Balak, and James Landholm, all of Omaha, Nebraska; two great-grandsons, Carter and Landon Balak of Omaha; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded into death by her parents, Carl and Martha Bjorkman; brother, Edward (Ethel) Bjorkman; sister-in-law, Gladys (Kelly) Magnuson; and brother-in-law, Chester (Lois) Landholm.
