Funeral Services For Verlyn Stoural

Funeral services for Verlyn Stoural, age 81, of Verdigre, Nebraska will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 3, 2015, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Verdigre. Reverend Terry Huber will officiate, with burial in Riverside Cemetery in Verdigre.

Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the church.

Brockhaus Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Verlyn died Friday, October 30, 2015, at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton, South Dakota.

Verlyn M. Stoural, daughter of George and Ella (Anders) Lentz, was born July 7, 1934, in Niobrara, Nebraska. As a young child, Verlyn moved with her family to a farm near Bloomfield, Nebraska, where she attended rural school through the seventh grade. Later, Verlyn attended her eighth grade year at First Trinity School in Bloomfield and went on to graduate from Bloomfield High School. After graduation, Verlyn received her teaching degree from Wayne State College and taught at several local schools. Verlyn was united in marriage to Donald Stoural on October 3, 1954. They farmed near Verdigre, Nebraska. They were blessed with five sons: Terry, Kieth, David, Eric, and Kent. After raising her family, she worked at Alpine Village until her retirement.

Verlyn was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday School and VBS. She was an active member of LWML and the American Legion Auxiliary for many years.

Verlyn is survived by her husband, Donald; her brother, Neal Lentz; her children, Terry, Kieth and wife Pat, David, Eric, and Kent; grandsons, Tyler and Blaine Stoural; step-grandsons, Doug and wife Katie, and Scott Block and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Ella Lentz; brother, Ronald Lentz; sister, Erma Schuett; and sister-in-law, Janice Lentz.
