Funeral Services For Randy Eckmann

Funeral services for Randy Eckmann, age 49, of North Bend, Nebraska were held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 23,
2017, at Christ Memorial United Methodist Church in Bloomfield. Pastor Lynde Linde will officiate, with
burial in Bloomfield City Cemetery.

Visitation was held Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the church.
Brockhaus Funeral Home in Bloomfield was in charge of arrangements.

Randy Kenneth Eckmann was born July 17, 1968, at Creighton, Nebraska. He lost his battle with cancer on December 19, 2017, at the Fred and Pamela Buffett Cancer Center in Omaha, Nebraska.

Randy was the fifth child of seven born to Kenneth and Dona Eckmann. Randy attended and graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1987. He excelled at all sports.

Randy started boxing when he was seven, and boxed for over 25 years. Through the years he won two Nationals, a runner up championship, seven Norfolk District Golden Gloves and Midwest Golden Gloves, before turning professional. Randy went on to judging, refereeing, and serving as president of the Boxing Association for the State
of Nebraska.

Randy married Missy Heiter in June of 1990. To this union one son, Chance, was born. Missy passed away in 1994, due to cancer. Randy married Jennifer Wood in 1997, and was later divorced.

Randy worked for Great Plains Communications for over 20 years. He enjoyed all his coworkers and their friendships.

He was on the volunteer fire and ambulance units in Royal, St. Edward, Stapleton, and North Bend. Randy was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting, fishing, camping, boating, and sports. He enjoyed the many trips and partying with classmates and friends, and spending time with family. He enjoyed picking on his nephews and nieces.

Randy was so proud of being from the big town of Bloomfield. He loved sharing memories and tall fish stories. He was a great father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be truly missed by many.

Randy was preceded in death by his wife, Missy; father, Kenneth Eckmann; grandparents, Claus and Gladys Eckmann, Lawrence and Florence Carlow, and Frank Juracek, Jr.; and niece, Megan Sage.

He is survived by his son, Chance of North Bend; mother, Dona Eckmann of Bloomfield; siblings, Cindy (Brad) Sage of Niobrara, Theresa (Rick) Horstmann of Verdigre, Bryan (Teresa) Eckmann of Normal, Illinois, Linda Green (fiancé Jim Davis), and Krista Eckmann all of Bloomfield, and Shawn (Phil) Peters of Springfield, Ohio; father-in-law, Max Heiter of Royal; sister-in-law, Tammy (Chris) Huff of Pierce; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins; and numerous friends
