Funeral Services For Phyllis Steinkraus

Funeral services for Phyllis Steinkraus, age 87, of Wausa, Nebraska, formerly of Plainview, Nebraska, will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 14, 2016, at Thabor Lutheran Church in Wausa. Reverend Ron Youngerman will officiate, with burial in Pleasantview Cemetery in Plainview.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the church.

Brockhaus Funeral Home in Wausa is in charge of arrangements.

Phyllis died Thursday, July 7, 2016, at Golden Living Center in Wausa.

Phyllis Steinkraus, daughter of Ray and Susie (Otto) Boies, was born October 28, 1928, at Plainview, Nebraska. Phyllis graduated from Plainview High School in 1945. On October 17, 1948, she was united in marriage to Wendell Steinkraus. They were blessed with one daughter, Cheryl.

Phyllis and Wendell resided on a farm southeast of Plainview until 1979, when they moved to Tilden, Nebraska. In 1995, they moved to Wausa, Nebraska to be closer to their children and grandchildren. Wendell died on December 27, 1996.

Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Cheryl (Bob) Marks of Wausa; grandchildren, David (Crystal) Marks of Norfolk, Nebraska, Katie (Richard) Smith  and Tony (Patricia) Marks, all of Wausa; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Norma White of Plainview, Nebraska; and many nieces and nephews.

​She was preceded in death by her husband, Wendell Steinkraus; her parents, Ray and Susie Boies; sister, Leona (Vernon) Johansen; and brother-in-law, Don White.
