Funeral Services For Pastor Bill Linde, IV

Memorial services for Pastor Bill “Tuffy” Linde, IV, age 64, of Elgin, Nebraska will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 6, 2018, at Christ Memorial United Methodist Church in Bloomfield, Nebraska.  Reverend Jim Atkins and Pastor Lynde Linde will officiate.  Burial will be at a later date.

Visitation will be Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the church.

Brockhaus Funeral Home in Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.

Pastor Linde died Saturday. December 30, 2017, at Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk. Nebraska.

William (Bill) (Tuffy) Linde IV, son of William Cress & Virginia (Schliff) Linde III, was born January 19, 1953, at All Souls Hospital in Morristown, NJ.

He attended school in Morristown and later graduated from Dover High School, Dover, NJ. He was the bass guitar player for a local rock n roll band in Morristown, NJ.  Later he joined the Air Force to serve his assigned 3-year tour of duty. Upon returning home, he became a professional floral designer for the next 35 years after which he returned to school receiving a bachelor degree in biblical studies from Bethel Bible Institute, Orlando Florida. He was ordained in the Full Gospel denomination in 2001. He continued floral design while preaching part-time in home based churches in Orlando area. His most noted floral design was building the artificial trees used on the set of the original Jurassic Park movie, now on display at Disney in Orlando, FL. He also spent time traveling across the country building artificial trees for large hotel chains and shopping malls.

He was previously united in marriage to Karen Ravo. A son was born to this union. They resided in Orlando, FL. This marriage ended when their son was in Jr. Hi.

On March 23, 2003 Bill was united in marriage to Lyndelle (Lynde) Shuey with whom he spent the rest of his life. Upon his arrival to Kansas, he began studies through St. Paul School of Theology. Bill and his wife currently serve in ministry together in the Great Plains Conference of the United Methodist Church. He formerly served as a licensed local pastor at Mt. Pleasant, New Hope, Lebanon, Downs-Rose Valley, Kanorado UMC churches all of Kansas. In July of 2017, he accepted a new appointment serving Elgin UMC, Elgin, NE.

Bill is an avid reader amassing a personal library of over 40,000 books. He enjoys theological debate with colleagues, gaming with his x-box, going to auctions, garage sales & spending time with family. He enjoyed the morning coffee clutch at Elgin UMC.

In 1991, Bill was diagnosed with congestive heart failure leading to the placement of a pacemaker/defibrillator in 2012. His heart condition weakened his heart causing additional damage to his lungs. He completed his journey in this world early Saturday morning at Faith Regional Hospital in Norfolk, NE, December 30, 2017, surrounded by his family and faithful dog, Cissy. Asleep in Jesus, blessed peace.

Bill is survived by his wife, Lynde Linde of their home; sons, William Curzon Linde of Port Charlotte, FL, Jason D. McGregor (wife Mandi) of Norton, KS, and USMC Gunny Sgt. Michael V. McGregor, Jr. (wife Danielle) of Honolulu, HI. Bill has one sister, MaryJane Williams (John) of Oviedo, FL; two grandsons, William James Linde VI, and William Youtsey; three great grandchildren, Alohilani, Illiana, and Kaeo Youtsey-Rebucca; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Treena M. McGregor.

Memorials will be received by the family c/o Brockhaus Funeral Home. Designation to be determined at a later date.
