Funeral Services For James 'Jim' Pollock

Mass of Christian Burial for James "Jim" Pollock, age 57, of Neligh, Nebraska will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 5, 2017, at St. Ludger Catholic Church in Creighton, Nebraska. Reverend Jeremy Hans will be Celebrant, with burial in Brunswick City Cemetery.

Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the church, with a 7:30 Wake Service.

Brockhaus Funeral Home in Creighton is in charge of arrangements.

Jim died Friday, December 1, 2017, at Antelope Memorial Hospital in Neligh.
James “Jim” Pollock, son of Wayne and Patricia (Judge) Pollock, was born November 12, 1960, at O’Neill, Nebraska. He graduated from Ewing High School in 1979 and then attended Northeast Community College. On October 26, 1985, Jim was united in marriage to Rhonda Snodgrass at Ewing, Nebraska. They were blessed with two children, Kenton James and Carissa Ann.

Jim grew up in Ewing and for the past 28 years he and Rhonda have resided south of Brunswick, Nebraska on their acreage, with a Neligh address. Jim worked at Ewing Feed Store, farmed for several years with his father-in-law, and for the past 29 years, he worked at Pollock Redi-Mix. He also worked for a time as a grain tester at Scouler Elevator.

Jim was a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Brunswick, where he served as an usher and altar server. He was involved in Men’s League bowling. Jim also took part in a boxing club, earning numerous trophies and several championships, including a Tri-State Championship. He enjoyed going to his kids activities. Jim also enjoyed doing woodworking projects. He took great pride caring for his family and spending time with them was precious to him. The couple spent many hours together caring for their large yard and garden. Jim loved to share the extra produce with family and friends.

Jim was always ready to help someone out, and was known as a hard worker. He will be
deeply missed by all who knew him.

Jim is survived by his wife, Rhonda; son, Kenton (Jessie) of Creighton, Nebraska; daughter, Carissa of Wayne, Nebraska; brothers, Dan (Brenda) Pollock of Norfolk, Nebraska and Bill Pollock of Spaulding, Nebraska; sisters, Gwen (Mark) Hobbs of Ewing, Nebraska and Janet (Russ) Sawyer of Ewing, Nebraska; father, Wayne Pollock and wife Joan Pollock; father and mother-in-law, David and Carolyn (Anson) Snodgrass; brother-in-law, Randy (Jennifer) Snodgrass; and sister-in-law, Rashelle (Tim) Oltjenbruns.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia “Patty” (Judge) Pollock; and his grandparents, James and Fern (Fisher) Pollock and Roy and Jane (Minton) Judge.
