Funeral Services For Gary Gottsch

Memorial services for Gary Gottsch, age 65, of Creighton, Nebraska will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 1, 2015, at Southview Bible Church at 2007 South 7th Street in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Pastor Jason Rosas will officiate. Family graveside service will be at German Cemetery in Bennington, Nebraska.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Brockhaus Funeral Home in Creighton, with a 6:00 p.m. Funeral service.

Gary died Thursday, June 25, 2015, at his residence.

Gary Allen Gottsch, son of LeRoy and Erma (Ellerbruch) Gottsch, was born February 14, 1950, at Omaha, Nebraska. Gary attended South High School and graduated in 1968. Gary served in the National Guard from 1969 until 1976. He was united in marriage to Marilyn Everts on September 19, 1969, in Omaha. Four children were born to them: Robert, Jason, Ryan, and Janelle.

Gary and Marilyn lived in Omaha until 1999. He worked as an auto mechanic before he joined the Omaha Fire Department in 1973. Gary served in the department until 2000, achieving the rank of Captain before retiring. He and Marilyn moved to Oakland, Nebraska where he managed the Golf Club from 1999 until 2006. They then moved to Creighton, Nebraska where Gary was employed by the City of Creighton from 2008 until 2015. Gary was a member of Creighton Bible Church. Gary enjoyed bowling, golfing, and spending time with his fifteen grandchildren.

Gary is survived by his wife, Marilyn Joan; son, Robert and wife Angela, and their children, Peter, Benjamin, Noah, and Eleanor; son, Jason and wife Parvin, and their son, James; son, Ryan and wife Olivia, and their children, John, William, Max, Lucy, and Rosemary; daughter, Janelle and husband Eric Fuchtman, and their children, Ethan, Johanna, Jorgia, Jenna, and Elliot; sisters, Leare Wheeler, Judy Everts, and Carol Stevenson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Gerald.
