On November 7, 2017, at approximately 7:00 p.m. the Knox County Sheriff’s Office investigated a non-injury accident one quarter mile East of Creighton on Hwy 59. A 2009 Buick Enclave driven by Marlene Lind of Creighton was westbound when it collided with a deer. Lind’s vehicle received approximately $1500 worth of damage to the left front headlight/fender area. The deer ran off after the collision.
On November 12, 2017 at about 7:08 p.m. the Knox County Sheriff’s Office investigated a 2-vehicle accident 8 miles West of Verdigre on 881 Road. A 1995 Chevy Suburban driven by Ryan Zerbe of Verdigre collided into the rear of a 560 International tractor driven by Ronnie Scofield of rural Verdigre. Zerbe and his passenger Dustin Pischel were transported to the Avera Creighton Hospital for minor injuries, by the Verdigre Rescue Squad. Ronnie Scofield was not injured during the collision. Scofield’s tractor received approximately $2500 in damages, Zerbe’s vehicle was totaled. Verdigre Fire provided traffic control at the scene.
