On May 4, Crofton students who participate in the No Limits Chapter decided to go out in the community and clean up cigarette butts throughout the business district.
The students placed yellow flags with a message where ever they found a cigarette butt and proceeded to collect the cigarette butts and discard of them properly.
The message proudly states that the students participating in No Limits oppose Big Tobacco and believe it to be manipulative in its marketing practices, which some people believe to target teenagers.
Students think it is likely who ever is leaving the butts in those particular spots will return to smoke there again. Hopefully they notice the brightly colored sign, read it and realize that they are doing harm to their bodies.
This project not only cleans up the area but hopefully can convince others to be their healthiest selves. It also promotes teens to stay away from tobacco products such as cigarettes.
