Crofton local, Kali Pavlik, is competing in archery for a spot on the USA Junior Dream Team at Chula Vista, California this week.
Pavlik is the daughter of Tom and Tara Pavlik of Crofton and the granddaughter of Lyle and Carolyn Larsen of Creighton.
The sixteen year old is in 11th place nationally, after having just joined the archery tournament circuit this year.
Kali Pavlik, a sophomore at Crofton Community School, started participating in archery at church camp, and has since grown to love the sport.
She first started competing in area tournaments close to home, but found herself unsatisfied.
Then her coach arranged for a coach of a higher level to assist the local teen in her archery lessons.
Pavlik has competed at the USA Olympic Tournament, the Texas Shoot Out in Grand Junction, Texas, a tournament in Ohio, two tournaments in Las Vegas and many more.
