Bruning-Davenport-Shickley's explosive offense stunned Creighton early, but the Bulldogs kept fighting in the Class D1 state semifinal, scoring 28 unanswered points.
Creighton eventually fell, 46-28, to the top-seeded Eagles. BDS will play in the Class D1 championship game in Lincoln on Monday, Nov. 23 against the winner of Burwell and Clearwater-Orchard.
The Eagles scored on every BDS possession early in the game, leading 24-0 over Creighton at the end of the first quarter. The Bulldogs were down 32-0 halfway through the second quarter, but battled back within four points in the fourth quarter, 32-28. Two scores by BDS sealed the win for the Eagles.
The Bulldogs end their season with an 11-1 record.
