Creighton Seniors Finish Season As State Runner-ups

Until the bottom of the fourth inning, Creighton looked like they were going to take home the 2016 Class C State Championship. However, that's when Malcolm's bats came alive.

A close game in the beginning, Malcolm came to bat in the bottom of the fourth with the score tied at five. A grand slam by Jonah Beckmann gave Malcolm a lead they wouldn't relinquish.

Creighton did look to start a rally in the seventh, loading the bases with two outs, but Malcolm was able to get a strike out to finish the game.

Leading the Creighton offense was Austin Diedrichsen, who went 2 for 4 with two RBIs. 

Ryan Neumann took the loss on the mound for Creighton.

Creighton's dominant season ends with an area championship and a Class C State Runner-up title.
