Creighton Recall: Date Set For Recall Of Board President

The Creighton Board of Education has selected a date for a special election in the recall attempt of board president Dan Morrill.

The special election will be Tuesday, Aug. 18, and will be open to all registered voters in the Creighton school district.

Jody Fuchtman of Creighton filed an affidavit for the recall on April 20. Morrill was given 20 days to respond. After that, Fuchtman was given 30 days to obtain 165 valid signatures of registered voters in Creighton's district. In that time, she collected 180 valid signatures - 164 in Knox County and 16 in Antelope County.

On Monday at its regular July board meeting, the Creighton Board of Education selected the date of the special election. The lone question on the ballot will read: “Shall Dan Morrill be removed from the office of the Creighton School Board?"
