In a battle of two of the top teams in northeast Nebraska, it was Albion who was able to come on top in the close game, beating Creighton 3-2.
Neither team was able to get much going for the first three innings until an RBI single gave Creighton a 1-0 lead in the top of the fourth. Albion countered that run in the bottom of the frame to keep the game tight.
Creighton added another run in the fifth to regain the lead. The score remained 2-1 until the final frame. In the bottom of the seventh, Albion's bats came alive. With Ty Martinsen on third base, Scott Ketteler pulled out a base hit to tie the game. Shortly after, Kyle Kramer added a single of his own to score Noah Valasek to win the game in walk-off fashion.
Kramer also took the win on the mound for Albion. Garrett Zimmerer was given the loss for Creighton.
