The 16th Father-Daughter Valentine Dance hosted by the Community Youth Group was held on Sunday evening, February 18, from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the Bloomfield Community Center 64 people in attendance.  The Father-Daughter Valentine Dance is held each year to encourage fathers and father figures to enjoy a special evening with their daughters and to set a dating standard for their daughters to go by.

Throughout the past years, several fathers and father figures from Bloomfield and the surrounding area have attended many of the dances with their daughters, and it is wonderful when they come back each year.  This year we also had several dads and daughters attend for the first time, which was exciting to see.

Every year the Community Center room undergoes a transformation as it is decorated with many strings of red and white lights, balloons and other Valentine decorations.  Cupcakes, bars, cookies, snack foods, and punch were served by the Community youth group while a wide variety of music that kept everyone on the dance floor throughout the evening.  Melissa Kruse from “Memories by Melissa” was available to take photos for those who wished to purchase a keepsake of their memorable night out.

Door prizes for the daughters were handed out towards the end of the evening and as everyone left.

The Community Youth Group and leaders would like to thank everyone who attended this year’s Father-Daughter Valentine Dance. We would like to thank Melissa Kruse from “Memories by Melissa” and Mary Sterkel for the wonderful job you do with the keepsake photos and a very special thanks to the Community Youth group parents for all you do to support us and for helping to provide the food for the dance.

Most of all, we thank God for continuing to bless this dance and giving us the opportunity to create a special evening for fathers and their daughters.   We hope the dance is a treasured memory for all of you and that you will come again next year!
