Over 25 Students Face Off In Knox County Spelling Bee

The Knox County Spelling Bee was held Tuesday in Bloomfield with over 25 participants from 5th through the 8th grades. 

The bee, held at the Bloomfield Community Center, was sponsored by the Knox County Alpha Lamda Chapter  of Delta Kappa Gamma, an international teacher's sorority. 

Justin Potts of Crofton won the 7th- and 8th-grae division and will represent Knox County in the State Spelling Bee, sponsored by the Omaha World-Herald, on March 14, 2015. 

Finishers are as follows:
5th grade division:
1st-Brooklynn Fiscus of St. Rose of Lima, Crofton
2nd-Leah Bloomquist of Wausa
3rd- Ella Wragge of Crofton 

6th grade division:
1st- Kate Bruns of Bloomfield
2nd- Calvin Dather of Crofton
3rd- Chakira Ferris of Niobrara

7th and 8th grade division:
1st- Justin Potts of Crofton
2nd- Brian Johnson of Creighton
3rd - Emil Brandt of Niobrara
