The Bloomfield Community Schools Board of Education met in special session on March 26 to discuss bids for the Phase 2 remodeling of the first and second floors at the high school.
With the members of Kristi Hauger, Jason Hefner, Chris Johnson, and Christy Mackeprang in attendance with Shane ALexander, Tabitha Gilsdof and Konnie Thiele, the meeting proceeded in the Superintendent's office.
Discussion was held in regards to the bids received for the Phase 2 remodeling project for the first and second floors of the high school.
Of the bids received, the Board accepted the bid made by DWB Inc. for the sum of $816,520. Work is scheduled to begin on May 21 following the completion of the 2017-18 school year.
The scope of work for Phase 2 includes removal of asbestos on both 1st and 2nd floors, new flooring, new walls, new cabinets, LED lighting and new windows. Additionally the rooms will be have updated electric, plumbing and ensuring the floors meet current fire code.
The project is expected to be completed prior to the commencment of the 2018-19 school year on August 22.
